The few weeks following the last update did not provide much to write home about. Along with a series of postponements due to weather each eleven has had to deal with major blows to their ambitions and pride. However by channelling the Easter spirit we have turned it around and restored the positivity ready for the end of season run in.

The first team gave a valiant effort in their second semi-final of the season after going 3-0 down within 7 minutes they fought back but eventually bowed out to lose 4-3. More impressively they have bounced back with 4 points in the league, a 2-1 win against EBOGS and a 1-1 draw against Parkonians providing much better reading of the league table as we enter the final 6 games.

The 3’s and the 4’s have faced each other twice in the build up to Easter, the first was a 5-0 drubbing dealt expectedly by the 3’s. The second produced the first 3 points of the season for the 4’s and a 3-2 victory, meanwhile denting the 3’s title ambitions. Questions would usually be asked of the 4’s loyalty to the club but these must be directed at the 3’s players who scored all 3 goals for the 4’s. Luke Jones dropping down a team to grab a brace and Sean Kelly scoring a well-placed own goal.

The 3’s must have had Jesus himself helping out this weekend in order to bounce back from the humbling from the 4’s. A double header against title and local rivals Alexandra Park. Two 3-1 victories put the OG’s back in the mix and gives AP an uphill task to get back in contention.

The 4’s did not have a match this weekend but after their first league win of the season they look forward to a double header against EBOGS which has the potential to lift them off the foot of the table. Rise up the 4’s.
