Nyong has a Demi-On

With only one fixture going ahead, all the pressure was on the 1's to deliver another cup win. Injured 1st Team Captain Matt Nyong gives his account from the sidelines...

Fuck me. What a game. Absolutely unbelievable. Went down with a strong team, and the conditions were tough as always at Nottsborough, swirling winds and rain cutting the pitch up. Set up very well and organised from the off, with Matt Brown holding the ball up excellently and connecting well with Demi and the wide men Blair and Felix. A very even first 30 minutes with the deadlock broken after half an hour. Demi was stood up 1 on 1 against Nottsborough centre half who couldn't handle his strength, tried to bring demi down who stayed on his feet and then slotted the ball home on his weaker foot to send the bench into euphoria. For the rest of the half ogs had a spring in their step. 1 nil at half time.
Nottsborough came out with some impetus in the second half, although their equaliser was still against the run of play, heading home from close range.
(10 minutes into the second half).
For the next 15 minutes the game turned into a bit of a slug fest, with Nottsborough trying to get the ball out wide to break down the ogs defense, however Jason Hartley dealt with such threats brilliantly.
Then a further breakthrough. Tireless work from second half substitute Eoin Doran lead to the ball moving forward for Adam Blair to play a perfectly weighted ball through to Matt Brown, who calmly netted ogs 2nd.
Nottsborough attempted to apply further pressure to fi d a way back into the game, but another moment of magic came from ogs. Steve Edwards bounded out of the defence with the ball, taking on half of the Nottsborough team with the skill of a winger before playing through demi on goal who, once again, shrugged off any attempts to bring him down from the Nottsborough centre halves, and rifled ogs third into the roof of the net.
Ogs then saw the final five minutes out with some excellent defending and smart goalkeeping from Matt Rosson to advance into the semi final.

With the remaining teams having a week off we took the opportunity to help our local community. We again visitied StoreHouse Food Kicthen to provide extra hands and donate clothes to the homeless visitors.

Harvey did not score.
