P-P > 2-1

Another week, another postponement. This week the 1’s were forced to sit one out as Old Stationers pulled the plug, or quite literally the opposite and left the plug in on their waterlogged pitch, hours before kick-off. The 2’s and 3’s suffered similar late drama in their respective fixtures.

The 2’s took the long trip down to Nottsborough and despite going a goal down, had the better of a tight affair. The building pressure built and a drilled ball from Aydin found Adam Tripp after a sublime missed touch from Dam Emmerson, Tripp put the ball away and the black and gold never looked like losing. However they failed to get the ball down enough and squandered the remaining chances of the match. Extra-time soon became a likely outcome before some ill-discipline led to a sin-bin and the extra man advantage told as Nottsborough headed a scrappy goal with 45 seconds left on the clock. A soft way to go out of the Cup but they can bounce back with round 2 of the AFA Trophy.

Man of the match: George Lewis

Result: 2-1 loss

The 3’s rotten form continued but it did not look so for 85 minutes. Captain Rakim had masterminded a new diamond formation that looked to be paying off as they lead 1-0 for the majority of the match. A Chris O’Callaghan strike separating the two teams. However two late goals from Old Parks meant the black and gold once again came away with zero points. It does not get any easier for the 3’s as they face top of the league Norsemen.

Harvey did not score.

Man of the match: Chris O’Callaghan

Result: 2-1 loss
