Matt Browns Coming Over The Hill…

Gary sipping Cult Hero status from his Cult Hero Trophy

It was a weekend of charity for the Black and Gold this weekend but for once we were not doing our usual good out in the local community. The community gave back. Parkonians kindly donated three points and Cult Hero Gary Smith donated all of the profits from his faboulous Row Z project http://www.garywsmithphotography.co.uk/row-z

He is a monster. Matt Brown’s brace and a goal from Dee were more than enough to claim victory for the Ones over Old Parkonians. A clean sheet, credited to an outstanding performance from Luke Tripp meant the black and gold ran out 3-0 winners to go joint top of the table with Nottsborough who we drew with last time out. Early gaps could begin to form depending on who comes out on top next week against Alleyn Old Boys.

The Two’s poor opening encounter was followed by a 2-0 loss to Old Finchleians. Another sloppy start was capitalised by the home side and despite numerous attempts on goal, dominating possession and territory the score line was doubled in the final minutes. A frustrating afternoon and despite positives if you don’t put the ball in the net you don’t win football matches.

The Three’s outstanding curtain raiser was quickly forgotten as a disjointed performance brought a 1-0 loss against a strong Parkonians side. However losing by such a narrow margin against one of the early pacesetters shows good promise for the OG’S. Rak and Ollie are still injury free.
