Post Match OG’s: Aussie Aydin final getting stuck in
With Christmas looming the penultimate round of fixtures threw some tough matches the OG’s way but we came away with two wins out of three and could have a table topping 1st XI to end the decade if they continue their current form. This weekend also brings the OG’s Christmas party at The Stapleton from 7PM, all welcome to come along for a drink and hopefully celebrate 3 wins.
The 1’s went into the game hoping to consolidate 1st position in the league and faced fierce local rivals Crouch End Vampires who could have posed a potential banana skin. However they were brushed aside at a canter as the recently free scoring OG’s put 4 past the Vamps.
Man of the match: League Table
Result: 4-2 win
The two’s travelled to top of the league and only unbeaten side, Polytechnic. This remained the case as the organised, well drilled outfit out played the black and gold throughout the first half. We got a foothold in the game in the second half at 2-0 down but despite some Matt Rosson heroics the home side went 3 ahead. The effort cannot be faulted by OG’s who, with 1 sub and mounting injuries, kept forcing things until the end but to no avail.
Man of the match: Joe Alkins
Result: 3-0 loss
Post Match OG’s: Joiner gets the chop
The 3’s are on a rich vein of form but travelled to Alleyn in the second round of their last hope of a cup run. This rich vein is still pumping strong and they delivering a resounding performance. Clean sheet and two goals was more than enough knock the opposition out. Returning Chris O’Callaghan and Josh both notched to show the 3’s strength and depth. Next time out they welcome local rivals AP in what is a must win if we are to mount a promotion challenge in the New Year.
Harvey did not score.
Man of the match: Lloyd Redvers
Result: 0-2 win
